Saloon Car Racing

Saloon Car Racing is a class of racing in Australia that is made up from the long term rivals Ford and Holden

but the cars raced are closely based on production vehicles. Both Falcon and Commodore are

in six cylinder form and currently are EA/EB and VN/VP models with a change this year also making room for 

AU and VT models. The Saloon cars are broken into two championships - the EA/VN models will compete for the Tascco Challenge .

These cars have output levels of up to 230 rwhp for the Falcon and 200 rwhp for the Commodore.

Saloon cars lap close to 1 second faster than the V8 utes at most tracks and have a top speed close to

240kph depending on the track.
